So long story short, I had a job. A job that brought in the presence of girls with varying disorders/disabilities. At said job I came across a warm young girl. She gave me this as a gift and it has been on my wall ever since. This young girl, I believe 7yrs old, has cystic fibrosis. Though modern medicine is working its miracles, many with CF do not live into adulthood, let alone their 40s, let alone bear children. But there was something about this girl that made me want to switch shoes with her and give her life. She was wise beyond her years and I just know given a chance at life, she would live it. And she would embrace others, nurturing them til they lived it too. I was amazed by her responsibility at such a young age and her awareness. I was amazed at her will to live. And so I appreciate all young children who should only be privy to innocence but have been learned by disease, abuse, neglect, broken homes, etc. I appreciate the children who would brighten a future many take for granted. I appreciate-- Emily.
Sincerely with love,
