To the childless mothers...

I've done my speal on childlessness. But I just want to take the time out to tell others feeling invalid because of any infertility issues- DON'T. It's not the physical child that makes the mother. If you were going to nurture and nurture well, bet your bottom dollar you're going to do it/are doing it regardless. Easier said than done I know.

Not too long ago I posted this picture on another site of mine. A beautiful depiction by Samira Abbassy titled "Infertility" I just couldn't stop staring. I wondered what reactions I would get or how an eye who isn't as worried about infertility would see this in comparison to me. So I posted the image you see at the top. (Abbassy's original is at the bottom.) I received the following remarks. (I love how art is/can be subjective and elude the mind to different pathways.)

Person A: "I see 3 sides of a building.. a spider web, and a tree with no leaves. and a blue and white sky."

Person B: "I see a dress"

Person A: "guess i kinda see the skirt, maybe a white shirt. what the hell is that tree/root thing. her uterus? is she growing a baby?"

Person B: "its about the fertility of woman. that's why the tree and plants are positioned in her pelvic region"

Person ME: "my interpretation is of a black skirt, nude top. then there's a huge circular scope on the focus of what defines womanhood (breasts(nursing) & uterus(reproduction)), naked tree (no life grows from it), it stems that far up because when naked that is all we see- the "bush" and not its root (the uterus)...though here a displaced uterus/with non-symmetrical seeds (ovaries) to show its malfunction (infertility). of course i am not the artist, but that is what my subjective eye sees"

Person B: "i thought of that too, due to the bare branches but i still say life...leaves or not...it doesn't seem dead to me"

...i do not know how Abbassy meant to come across...but i believe it creative.
